New charity partner & dishes

Starting October 1, 2025, our restaurants will be supporting Buy Food with Plastic. The initiative enables people in countries like Ghana, Nicaragua, and India to exchange plastic bottles for a warm meal. In this way, hunger is alleviated while plastic is removed from the environment and returned to the cycle. Beyond that, Buy Food with Plastic creates local recycling infrastructures where plastic is turned into useful products and jobs — giving families new hope and perspectives.

For every Charity Dish you enjoy, the FWG-Foundation automatically donates CHF 1.– to Buy Food with Plastic. ❤️

Clean-up Day Basel

Our Clean-Up Day took place for the fourth time yesterday – this time along the beautiful Rhine riverbank in Basel. 🌿

Together with our ambassadors, we rolled up our sleeves and collected quite a range of items: from sunglasses and socks to countless cigarette butts. We even found a wallet – which, luckily, is now on its way back to its owner.

Just like in previous clean-ups, we saw once again how important it is to keep going and raise awareness. A big thank you to our dedicated team, who gave it their all even in the warm summer weather. We have to admit, the temptation to jump straight into the river was real...

P.S.: We did enjoy a little refreshment afterwards – with a relaxed apéro by the river. 😉

Opening Negishi Stadelhofen

We’ve just opened our newest Negishi Sushi Bar – right at Stadelhofen train station. 🎉 The interior draws inspiration from the wild Paris of the 1960s, with velvet seating, retro décor and playful details. 🪩 From classic sushi rolls to creative specials and varied bento boxes, there’s something to suit every time of day. 🍣🥢 Whether dining in, relaxing on the courtyard terrace or choosing take-away or delivery – everything’s possible.

A place with special history: Right next door, over 25 years ago, we opened the Outback Lodge – our very first restaurant. A location full of memories, now entering a new chapter with the Negishi Sushi Bar. ✨

Welcome Day 👋🏻

On June 3, it was that time again: we had the pleasure of welcoming over 50 new team members at our Welcome Day. 🎉

The day offered the perfect opportunity to get to know the FWG better, connect with others, ask questions ❓ and enjoy a great time together with colleagues from different locations. 🤝 From internal communication and payroll to training opportunities and our ambassador programmes – our new team members received all the key info to start their journey with us. 📚

And of course, we wrapped up the day with a delicious apéro. 🥂 We’re excited to kick off this new chapter together and look forward to a successful journey ahead!

Creating opportunities together

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of donating CHF 16,500 to the IPT Foundation.

The foundation supports people who face major hurdles returning to the job market after losing their employment – often due to health issues, limited education or language barriers. IPT offers hands-on, personalised support to help them build lasting perspectives.

A big thank-you to all our guests: your Charity Meal purchases made this donation possible. Together, we’re creating real opportunities.
